Poker vibrator

A poker vibrator is used to vibrate & compact the concrete to obtain a well-compact and good-finishing surface appearance. Poker vibrator gives a high rate of vibration and they induce the concrete to consolidate. It’s also known as immersion vibrator or needle vibrator. It consists of a power unit, flexible shaft, needle, and sometimes a blade instead of the needle. The diameter of the needle normally varies from (20-75) mm having a length of (250-900) mm. aa 30mm diameter poker vibrator was used.

The main advantage of the poker vibrator is portable and its movement on the construction site is very easy. In many unfavorable positions and situations, this vibrator can be used. The poker is submerged in the concrete. But it doesn’t keep in the concrete for a long time to avoid the segregation effects. If poker is not applied properly air bubbles will not release from concrete. It causes honeycombs. Poker cables aren’t permitted to touch the formwork & reinforcement. If it touches with reinforcement then reinforcement will move from its position so the connection between concrete & reinforcement will reduce. Therefore the strength of the structure may reduce. If concrete thickness is high, concrete is placed layer by layer and the poker is applied for each layer of concrete. Generally, poker is moved vertically in concrete. If it’s moved horizontally segregation may occur. After each use poker was cleaned well.
